Drop Off and Pick Up Reminders

K/1 Doors: Please do not block the driveway...especially at pick up. Please do not park in the driveway leading into the St Germaine parking lot. You must park in an actual spot.

2/3 Doors: Please be patient and wait in line when dropping off your students. Do not cut in front of another car so you can drop your child off.

4/5 Doors: Please do not pull up going Eastbound on 99th Street and walk your children across this very busy street. Pull up far enough if you want to watch your child until they get in the building. If you don't you will block everyone else trying to drop off their kids.

CoVid Updates

*Masking is now STRONGLY RECOMMENDED but not required for all students, staff and parents. If students take the bus for band or any other reason, they are still required to wear a mask.

*Positive cases will still need to quarantine for 5 days. After 5 days they may return but will need to be masked for an additional 5 days.

*When students are quarantined, they will be given work for someone to pick up in the foyer of school. Students will get in invitation to a Homework Help Google Classroom to log on between 3:30 and 4:30 to get assistance from a Hannum staff member for work that they are struggling with. They just need to log on during that time and someone will be available to help them while they are quarantining.

SHIELD Illinois

FYI.... We continue to test on Tuesdays when we have school. We get results anywhere from early the next morning until Thursday. We will always try to call you with a positive test as soon as we know. If we get results early in the morning, we will attempt to contact you before school begins.

The SHIELD Illinois program is a quick, simple, and non-invasive COVID-19 screening test. Students that have opted-in to the program will provide a small amount of saliva that is tested at a professional lab. Results of the test are then provided to families and our school district within the days following. The program offers students the opportunity to reduce or waive quarantine requirements in the event of close contact with a positive case or if the student demonstrates symptoms. You can opt-in to the program at any time by accessing Online Forms in Skyward Family Access. More information about the SHIELD Illinois program can be found at: d123.org/shield-illinois-testing-program

It now looks like depending on when you signed your child up, they may not be able to test until the following week.

News from your Hannum PTA

Thank you all who responded to the Budget Amendment vote. We had 26 responses and the amendment was approved with a 25-1 vote in favor of the proposal. Also, a BIG THANK YOU to those who contributed to the School Supply Drive earlier in the month to help contribute to what we were able to give to classrooms. Thanks to all these efforts, 19 bags of supplies were delivered to the school last week! . One of the most important aspects of the PTA mission is to promote school and family community and to improve the educational experience of EVERY child; making sure every classroom has needed supplies for any child in that room to use definitely helps to support that mission!
