Kindest Kansas Citian Contest Opportunity for Student Participation
Every year students have the opportunity to participate in the Kindest Kansas Citian contest. Student participation is optional. It is a one-page drawing (K-2) or essay (3-5) demonstrating the positive impact the nominee has made on the student’s life, written by the student. Contest judges are looking to identify kind acts that come from the heart. Students will discuss the contest briefly during their January 9-13 counselor lesson, but no paperwork will be sent home; all information is available right here in the Paw Print.
The entries must be submitted online through the link below, and is best done at home due to information needed, such as parent phone number, email address, and nominee’s full name. The submission will be the responsibility of the parent/guardian or the student. The contest’s due date is Friday, February 17th. : https://kindestkansascitian.org/public-essay-submission?teacher_id=590. Belmont will have a slideshow to honor all of the students and their nominees. If you have a photo of the nominee you would like to be included in the slideshow, please email it to Miss Arbaugh. Kind people don't do kind things to be recognized for their actions, but it's still nice for them to know that they've made a difference in someone else's life.
If you have any questions, please let Miss Arbaugh know: narbaugh@usd232.org
WeLcOmE bAcK to a BEautiful Semester of PTO Events!
You won't need to cook dinner on Tuesday, January 24th because it's Belmont Night at Chipotle! Families must present the flyer on their phone or tell the cashier they are there for the fundraiser for Belmont. If ordering online, use the YKER32A. Sweet! (Savory, actually.)
Next, we're gearing up for a BEautiful Belmont tradition...PTO BINGO for Books Night on Friday, February 10! Step 1 is gathering gently used books for the prizes. You may send books you'd like to rehome through donation anytime between now and February 3rd! If you've got a lot and you want to drop them off instead of loading up your kiddos, just do so anytime between 7:45 and 4:30 on school days! Watch for more information soon about BINGO Night specifics! Want to help with the collection of raffle items, organization of books, popping of the popcorn?? Click that link down below to sign up to join the planning and implementation team! We'd LOVE to welcome new active peeps to the team!
AND....watch for your child to bring home a Bulldog Bank Challenge 2023 container next week! If you've been here awhile, you know that we used to send home bottles to collect change, all of which supplemented our student field trip and classroom Learning Expeditions activities. That generally occurred around Bulldog Dash time. We chose to skip the bottles in the fall, but scroll back through old Paw Prints and you'll be reminded that we said we might pull them out later in the year if we didn't meet our Bulldog Dash goal. Well....tada! It's later in the year and here comes your brand spanking new and improved Bulldog Bank! Please watch for the container, help your child to neatly write their name and their teacher's name, let them decorate with stickers or sharpies and then encourage them to look for spare change to fill their bank! ALL of the money collected will go DIRECTLY back to STUDENT activities! Yay!!

Click here to see what's coming up in PTO Family Events! We would LOVE to have YOUR HEART and HANDS join our efforts! There's literally something for everyone! YOU matter to our students!
