Political Generation
Although I haven’t lived through any type of event such as the Great Depression or the 70s era, there have been a few events in this generation that help to shape my political ideology. When I was growing up, there was the housing collapse in 2008. I saw my parents for the first time struggling to deal with rising costs due to the recession. I have been lucky to grow up in a generation that hasn’t needed to deal with the consequences of trepidations or destructive events in our history. In more recent news, I have seen the responses by both parties in our government surrounding political scandal and corruption in the previous 2016 election. Political ideology is definitely influenced by the generation that people grow up in. The events that occurred in recent news makes me lose trust our government, especially those in the Republican Party. I believe these events in my generation are essential in supporting my political beliefs. The political generation that one grows up in can be a vital aspect of developing the political views and ones support for a certain party.
