Gator of the Month

Congratulations to Harsimarjit, our Gator of the Month for April. Harsimarjit is always respectful, puts forth his best effort, is helpful, is a great listener, and follows directions. Harsimarjit will be featured on our morning announcements and get a cool bracelet. Way to go!

DIBELS Testing

Our class will have our end of the year DIBELS benchmark testing on Monday afternoon. Students will be given three tests (Letter Naming Fluency, Nonsense Word Fluency and Phoneme Segmentation Fluency). All tests will be one minute long. I cannot wait to see their results!

End of the Year Celebration!

Mark your calendars! I would like to invite you and your child to come to school at 8:00 am on Monday, May 23 to celebrate the end of kindergarten. Students will be performing songs and reading a book they wrote. You will also see a video created by the kids. Each child will receive an award from me. I hope you can come! This is just for our class.

Due to your generosity for the Fun Run, we will not have a homework sheet for next week. Enjoy! Thank you for helping your child with homework this year! There will be another practice spelling test next Friday. The kids LOVED it today!

Last Day of School

The last day of school will be on Wednesday, May 25. This will be a full day of school. Students will not be released early. Report cards will be mailed home.

End of the Year Convocation

South Creek will have a fun end of the year convocation on Thursday, May 19 at 2:30 in the gym. We will have our annual Trikehundred Race (teachers race on tricycles!) and the student vs. teacher basketball game. I will be playing in the basketball game - wish me luck!

Summer Class Picnic

I will miss everyone terribly this summer! So, we are going to have a summer picnic at Southeastway Park. An invitation will be sent home soon. I hope to see everyone there!

From the Clinic...

As you should be aware, all medications are required to be transported to and from school by the child’s parent or guardian. As the school year comes to a close, I want to remind you that all medications will need to be picked up by 4:00 pm the last day of school (May 25th). Any medications left in the clinic will be discarded and will not remain in the clinic. If your child currently has medications in the clinic that are not likely to be used again, please consider picking medications up prior to the final day of school to avoid long lines.

Thank you,

Denise Stanger, RN School Nurse

Yearbooks are in! The yearbooks are amazing this year! There are extra copies at the office. If you would like one, send in $20 and I will send it home with your child!
