Teachers vs. Technology
Infusion of Technology
Technology For Educators
How would you suggest we as a nation provide consistent learning opportunities for teachers and ensure that they are not left behind in learning about new techniques and strategies?
As a nation I feel as if we should place money in our national budget to ensure that teachers have ongoing training monthly to guarantee that standards are being adequately taught. In addition to training on a monthly basis, there needs to be a plethora of professional development opportunities that will provide classroom strategies for teachers to raise the bar and students to raise standardized test scores.
Techonology and Teachers
Should all teachers across the country use certain practices?
No, I feel like teachers in different states should use different practices. Each state has different educational standards and what may work for one, may not work for the other.
Should there be a consistent standard for all teachers to meet, just as students must pass high stakes tests? We often talk about the measures of No Child Left Behind and ensuring student success, but what about our teachers? There is one type of profession that makes all others possible, that profession is teaching I feel as if there should be a consistent standard for ALL teachers to meet; just as students must pass high stakes tests. I say this because teachers are the facilitators of learning and learning is a lifelong process. Teachers should train on a monthly basis.
Lastly, share your thoughts on how well teachers are being prepared to master the ISTE Standards for Teachers standards in their classrooms.
I do not feel like teachers are well equipped to master the ISTE standards in their classrooms. The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) standards are recommended as a guide for technology infusion and implementation in the school environment. However, teachers are not given enough training on technology or the standards to master the concept.
