Ms. Delmonico's Classroom
Where reading is fun!
Reader's Workshop
Reader's workshop is a time where authentic reading experiences take place within our classroom. During this time there is a focus on what each individual student's strengths and needs are. Students are able to develop strong reading skills by experiencing many different type of reading, like guided reading groups, read aloud, read to someone, and read to self.
Each student has a book bag which has different books that fit with their current reading level. Some books are chosen by a teacher and most of the books are chosen by the student. Each student is able to look through bins of books on their book shopping day. The bins are color coded so students know which books are just right for them. They may choose any three books they would like!
