Getting to Know Me!
I would like to take a few minutes to introduce myself and give you a little background on my life! I graduated in 2000 from the University of Richmond. Before that I was a student at three Henrico County Schools. I went to Pemberton Elementary, Quioccasin (Byrd) Middle and Godwin High School. I have loved school since day one!
I have taught 20 years in Henrico County! The first 15 of those years were at Maude Trevvett Elementary School! I taught second grade for my first 11 years and third grade for my last 4. I am so excited to be starting my sixth year at SPES and my 21st year teaching! My husband is a health and PE teacher at Godwin High School! We have three children, Reece (12), Charlie (9) and Cooper (7). I am very lucky to be able to share Springer Spirit with Charlie and Cooper!
My goal this year is to create a positive environment where your child can learn and feel successful daily. Virtual learning can be a challenge, but I am up for that challenge and promise to do all I can to make this unusual experience a positive one for each of my students and their families. I will treat them with care and respect and expect the same in return. It is very important to me that every child learns to respect others, and takes responsibility for their actions and education. Third grade is filled with challenging curriculum and I will need full support from you, as the parent as well! I am confident when we all work together your child will be on their way to a very bright future!
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. Please keep this site handy to refer to at all times. I am looking forward to getting to know each family and working with your child over the next year! Let’s make a year that WE will always remember!
