Santa visits buildings

No day before Christmas break is complete without a visit from Santa! Santa made a special stop at BIS to snap a pic with Grandma Hale. Grandma Hale has volunteered at BIS for nearly 20 years.

BHS spread holiday cheer this Christmas

It’s one of the busiest times of the year for students volunteering. BHS has clubs and organizations participating in Keeling Chili Cook-off, Salvation Army Bell Ringing, Share Your Christmas, and Light the Park among others. And Chorus Line and Bel Canto have been spreading Christmas cheer all over town including visits to BPS (lower pic).

Fifth-graders complete DARE program with graduation

Family, community members and students gathered on Thursday, Dec. 17 for the DARE Graduation at BIS. The event recognized the more than 210 fifth-graders who completed the DARE program during first semester. SRO Dawnielle Robinson coordinates the DARE program. The graduation included a visit from BHS' Ounce of Prevention, guest speaker Coach Lance Roweton and a special treat from local musician and Bolivar grad Chris Crenshaw.

BMS students perform with district band

Ten students from Bolivar Middle School were named to the Southwest Missouri District Band. Students from BMS rehearsed and performed at Marshfield Middle School on November 21.

Congratulations to eighth-grade students: Keegan Brockman, Rebecca Munson, Sean Vote, Parker McClard, and Allice Meadows; and seventh-grade students: Hallie Tucker, Sarah Beals, Noemi Moreno, Kurtis Kuhn, and Luke Astone.

BPS students spin wild tales about Santa

Second Grade students at BPS showcase their Christmas writings on the Title writing wall. Each story with illustrations tell about how Santa got stuck delivering presents. BPS children had a lot of fun with this and were very creative with how their Santa gets stuck.

BACF, BOB donate to PAT

Lindsey Godfrey of Bolivar Area Community Foundation and Brad Gregory, president of Bank of Bolivar are teaming up to purchase an Otoacoustic Emission Test that will be used to screen infants and students for hearing loss.

Central Office open over break

Central Office will be open 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. over the Christmas break. The office will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
