2022 – 2023 Student Dress Code Guidelines
Recently the SDMC at Bush Elementary updated the student dress code for the 2022 – 2023 school year. Please print and review the attachment as back to school clothing sales start early. If you were at Bush before this school year, you recall that shirts had to be solid colored red, white, or navy polo-style or button up. T-shirts could only be Bush Elementary t-shirts. Also, sweat pants, leggings, jeggings, athletic shorts were not dress code. Shorts, skirts, and jumpers have to be solid colored navy, khaki, or the "Bush plaid". Pants must be solid khaki, navy or blue jeans without embellishments or tears/holes.
Please print or save the dress code guidelines below to be prepared for all back to school sales throughout the summer.

2022-2023 Dismissal Tag Registration
Dear Parents,
If you will have a child/children enrolled at Bush for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year, please fill out this form to pre-register your child/children for their 2022-2023 dismissal tag number. All children enrolled at Bush for the 2022-2023 school year must have a NEW dismissal tag number; you will NOT have the same number you had previously. The information you provide on this form will not be used for any other purpose. Each family will receive their new dismissal number tags at the Meet the Teacher event on August 17, 2022. Thank you for pre-registering-- by doing so, you will help us to make this process as coordinated and easy as possible!
PK and K Promotion Ceremony FAST PASS
Pre-kindergarten and kindergarten promotion ceremonies will be held in the classrooms on Tuesday, June 7 at 11:00 a.m. (Ms. Castaneda's ceremony is being held on a different date, and that information will be shared by her.) Any adult wishing to attend must show their government issued ID ( such as TX driver’s license) or their passport to be scanned at the front office before entering the school.
Since we realize there will be a large number of people hoping to attend this event, we have designed a FAST PASS system. If you wish to be pre-screened for the promotion ceremony and skip the long lines, here is what you will need to do:
- This pre-registration for the FAST PASS will begin on Tuesday, May 31 at 8:15 a.m. and conclude on Monday, June 6 at 10:15 a.m. Or you may pre-register on the morning of your child’s play performance, please bring your government issued ID (TX driver’s license) or passport to the front office beginning at 8:15 or immediately after the performance to be scanned. Please bring a government issued photo identification for the other family members who will attend or a picture of the identification to register the other family members.
- Once your ID has been successfully scanned, you will be given a Promotion Fast Pass with the names of the family members who have been pre-approved.
- On June 7th, you may enter through the carpool doors (by the flagpole) beginning at 10:45 a.m. using this FAST PASS. You must have the FAST PASS to enter the side doors. If you loose the pass, you will need to go to the front office and be scanned in again to enter. All family members listed on the FAST PASS must be present to enter on the pass. If a family member arrives later, then that person will have to check in with his/her identification at the front office.
- After the promotion ceremony and party are finished, you will exit through the carpool doors.
Bush Elementary Spirit Week!

Social and Emotional Learning with Ms. Jones
Responsible Decision Making:
Why is it important to teach children about making decisions?
Learning to make their own choices helps children be more independent, responsible, and confident. It gives them a sense of control over their lives, reducing anxiety and promoting resilience. Furthermore, it encourages self-exploration and helps them to solidify their values. Please take time to view this video on making responsible decisions with your child.
