A book for the 25 book campaing,
I read a book during the summer called War Horse by Michael Morpugo. Think book is really funny but same sad and it puts a great big smile on your face. Well I know it gave me a great big smile. This book War Horse this book is about a kid named Albert that bought this horse joey that was different from all the others because he had a cross on his neck and even white socks. They bring him to a farm and he began to work as a plowing horse. Albert develops some feeling into this horse and it became to be its friend. Then the war was coming into their village so the army people came and needed some soldiers and horse. The military saw there horse, just there’s and said they needed it, so they took it. Joey was sad and he said he wanted to join to, but he was too young to join he was 13 and you have to be 14 to be eligible to join. Years have passed and Albert and joey have found each other and there regular life became normal as it was years ago.
This book was really good because when joey was trying to Albert he made new friends like one named Topthorn. Topthorn was one of the strongest and fastest horses in the military and him and joey became friends competing against each other . Then there was another friend he was different he was human. His friend Fredrick granddaughter had just died and at the auction when joey had just found Albert he was offered at an auction they needed to give joey away for the military people to have money and for the injury. Fredrick had feelings for the horses because his granddaughter before he died took care of them every day and treated them like family for five years. Fredrick found joey in a auction and sold him. Fredrick had saw Albert crying when he sold him so Fredrick was a nice old man and ask how he knows joey. Joey told him and then the old man said ‘before you take joey I want you to tell everyone about his daughter and that she took care of joey with no mom or dad and how she was a good person. This part made me feel sad and when topthorn died in the war. I would rate this book 10 stars.
