Welcome to Week 9!
Well done to all of our students on an outstanding year under very different circumstances.
Last night we celebrated our Year 6 students at the Year 6 Farewell. The students looked fantastic in their outfits and a lovely evening of dinner, dancing and a few formalities was had by all. Many thanks to Miss Ward, Mrs Wingrove and the Stage 3 staff for their excellent organisation of the evening. Farewell and good luck for your future endeavours Year 6!
Today our annual Principal's excursion took place at Event Cinemas Glendale. 80 students from K-6 attended as their Award for Excellence 2020.
As always, our students were brilliant representatives of our school and staff from the cinemas made comment of their exemplary behaviour. Thanks again to Amanda and the canteen staff for providing lunch for the group upon our return to school. It was an excellent morning and the the movies were enjoyed by everyone. Congratulations MPS!
Below is a link to another short film; "Maryland The Year That Was". Thanks to Ms Blanch and Miss Brown for their work putting the movies together for us all. They provide terrific memories.
Enjoy the last few school days of 2020 everyone.

Maryland Public School...A Place of Learning
The meeting place represents students, families and teachers coming together to learn and play with friends.
The travelling lines are students coming to Maryland and going onto high school.
The water symbolises the waterways close by Maryland Public School, and its community of water dragons.
This is special to our school identity because Landy, our school mascot, is a water dragon.
Landy represents the Maryland school community values of Respect, Responsibility, Excellence and Safety.
The spirit of Birabahn the Eaglehawk, which is the primary totem of the Awabakal peoples, looks over the students and communities.

Party Day Sausage Sizzle
Next Tuesday is class Party Day. Each year the P&C provide a sausage sizzle for our students on this day. While we understand there are many dietary needs among our students, in order to ensure no cross contamination in the space available for preparation, we are only able provide regular beef sausages and halal sausages. If either of these options are not suitable for your child, we respectfully request that you provide lunch from home. All students will be provided a drink and ice-block on the day. Thanks to our wonderful P&C volunteers and canteen staff.
GREAT NEWS - CONTACTLESS CHECK IN IS NOW AVAILABLE AT MPS!
Our School is registered as a COVID Safe Site. We now have Contactless Sign In using a QR code. In order to use this facility you will need to have the Service NSW App. This app is free and will allow a quick and contactless check in for school events such as Kinder Orientation and Presentation Day.
