Message from Mr. VanRossum

This is what to expect....

I hope you enjoyed the weekend. Tuesday is the big day! It's our "opening day".

This is what our weekly Game Plan will look like. Please expect this to come every Sunday evening. It will provide a look at the week ahead and include information from Dwight, Allison, Lauren, Jeanie and Diane and Anne as needed.

Tuesday is an all hands on deck kind of day. Our main goal is to welcome our students, get them fed, and get them home the way their parents want them to get home. Please be sure you know how every student is getting home. If you have any questions, fill out the sheet that Allison provided or let us know before 9:30am.

During the month of September, we have to conduct a fire drill every week. Our first one is Thursday. Familiarize yourself with how to exit your classroom and where you go to be accounted for.

Our school wide morning meeting will be this Friday. We will call the grade levels beginning at 8:45am. We start with 5th grade since they have a longer way to walk. When entering the cafeteria for assemblies, grades 1, 3, 5 sit on the right hand side and PK, KG, grades 2 and 4 sit on the left side. Someone will be there to direct you. During this meeting, we will be talking about what a game changer is, expectations for the year, give out wristbands, go over the motto and sing happy birthday to all born in the month of September. This assembly should last about 30 mins. We have this "First Friday" assembly every month.

Don't forget to take your grade level/department photo for the back to school night slide show that our ITRT showed us at the meeting.

We had a wonderful teacher work week and I look forward to a wonderful first week for our students.
