Restorative Practices
Restorative Practices are a way to build relationships, connect with others!
For effective teaching and learning to take place, we believe good relationships need to be at the heart of everything that happens at Weatherford ISD and Crockett Elementary. That is why we have chosen to use Restorative Practices to build and maintain relationships between all community members, which will ultimately contribute to:
- Happier and safer schools
- Mutually respectful relationships
- More effective teaching and learning
- Increased attendance
- Increased morale and self-esteem
- A culture of inclusion and belonging
- Increased emotional literacy
Bring your family and come learn how you can use Restorative Practices at home!
Circles
At Crockett, we use Circles to get to know each other, teach social values, talk about social concerns, and maintain balance and respect of the classroom and school culture.
Your family will have an opportunity to participate in a Circle and learn how to conduct your own at home. You'll also leave with sample question that can be used for future family Circles.
Talking Pieces
Stop by this station to create a Talking Piece with your family. Take it home and use it in your own Circles!
Service
Did you know socks remain the #1 most requested clothing item at homeless shelters? Come decorate a pair with your family and let's give back! All socks will be donated to our local Manna and Center of Hope to be distributed to the homeless and underprivileged in our community.
