A Publication of St. Gabriel the Archangel School 11/9/2022
Dear Fabulous Families -
- We are looking forward to celebrating our Veterans tomorrow during Mass and at the reception hosted by our Fifth Grade. Thank you to all who responded to the invitation.
- Tomorrow is the last day to donate items to support Veterans in need. Adult size hats, gloves, and socks as well as shampoo and soap are needed. Please feel free to drop off supplies at the main office during the day.
- The end of the first trimester was last Friday. Teachers are finalizing grades and comments this week. An email will be sent when grades are ready to view in TeacherEase.
- Accounts should be current for release of report cards and 8th grade transcripts. Please review your accounts to make sure that your tuition and fees are up-to-date. If you are on the one-payment plan, your tuition should be paid. If you are on the two-payment plan, half of your tuition should be paid. It is assumed that monthly payments are going through FACTS. The technology fee should be paid in full, and one-third of your band fees should be paid.
Peace and Joy -

Notes from SEL
The best jokes are funny without embarrassing someone. Being funny shouldn't leave others feeling uncomfortable later. It's ok to slip up from time to time. Please help your child examine their conscience and evaluate how their words impact others. As we continue to apply our growth mindset to friendships, we know that mistakes are part of the process and it's ok to seek forgiveness and offer it as well.
Next week in SEL class we will be covering Safe Touch.
As always, please know that the counselors if your child would benefit from any extra support at school. We are here to partner with you!

November 15, 6:30 pm - Entering the Intermediate Years: Building on Success - Cafeteria
This presentation is appropriate toward the end of second grade or the beginning of third. It addresses issues that parents at this stage specifically need, such as brain and social development at age 8/9, social changes and “bullying” concerns, the need for homework independence, and smart early choices with technology. Supporting the school’s rules and expectations is emphasized. Presented by West County Psychological.

Dear Parents,
We appreciate Joan House's leadership for coordinating our collection for Veterans and the Veteran's Mass tomorrow. Thanks to all that have contributed to the collection.
Next Wednesday, we celebrate our 7th grade Baptism Mass. Parents, godparents, and family members will meet the students in the back of church to be part of the entrance procession.
Please keep our second graders, their families, and their teachers, in your prayers as they prepare for the sacrament of Reconciliation tomorrow.

Act of Contrition
My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against You, whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend, with your help, to do penance, to sin no more and to avoid whatever leads me to sin. Our Savior Jesus Christ suffered and died for us. In His name, my God, have mercy. Amen.

Blessing Bags for the homeless
Tonight, Wednesday, Nov. 9th we will be assembling Blessing Bags for the homeless. Once bags are finished, they will be placed in bins in the church vestibule for anyone to take and give to the homeless. These bags will be a great way to show our love and care for the less fortunate as we think of and thank God for all of our blessings at Thanksgiving.
Next Wednesday (11/16) we will focus on Commandments 1-3, no SGYG on 11/23 (Happy Thanksgiving!), and we will end November with a Social on 11/30!
Stay connected with SGYG
SGYG is open to all high school teens of the parish as well as their non-parishioner friends.

- No sign-up necessary! High schoolers can attend on a regular basis or drop-in as it fits their schedule!
