6 Simple machines
The first of these six machines is the lever, it is a machine consisting of a beam or rigid rod pivoted at a fixed hinge, or fulcrum. A shovel is a fine example of a lever. Secondly there's the inclined plane which is a flat supporting surface tilted at an angle, with one end higher than the other, used as an aid for raising or lowering a load, like a ramp. Number 3, the wedge is a triangular shaped tool, a compound and portable tool that is. A screwdriver or doorstop is a wedge.

Next is the pulley, a pulley is a simple machine that uses grooved wheels and a rope to raise, lower or move a load. Then a wheel with a rod, called an axle, through its center lifts or moves loads. Lastly, a screw is an inclined plane wrapped around a pole which holds things together or lifts materials.
