Tiger Times
All the Richfield Elementary News You Can Use
Principal's Corner
I am going to ask every caregiver - parent, guardian, grandparent, etc - with a Richfield Tiger student in your home to do a few things in order to get this year off to a smooth start.
- Please read, sign and return all your paperwork ASAP. There is documentation in there that is important in case of an emergency.
- Make sure we have accurate emergency contact information immediately just in case.
- Register for your student's teacher's digital means of communication - it is the fastest way to stay up-to-date.
- Check your child's folder!! I can't stress this enough - they know their education is important to you when you take time to check in on what's going on.
- Follow our Facebook page and keep an eye on our website!
..and PLEASE consider joining our PTO!!!
Welcome back to most of you and welcome to all our new families!! It is shaping up to be an amazing year to be a Tiger!!

We're going to start with a few of our new people!

After a quick move to Southern Illinois, I am circling back to re-join the Richfield family as a 4th grade math and science teacher. I will have both of my boys at school with me this year as well. One in 4th and one in kindergarten. It’s going to be a great year as a Richfield Tiger!!

I am going into my fifth year in teaching! I graduated from Pfeiffer with a bachelor's in Special Education General Curriculum (K-12) in 2018. I am originally from Raleigh, NC and moved to Albemarle to be with family and finish college. I am engaged to be married to my fiancé, Stephen, and have two dogs at home named Tobie and Sully. Working with children with disabilities is my passion and I feel so lucky every day that I can (hopefully) make a difference in a child's life! I am extremely grateful to be at Richfield now and to have a brand new opportunity this school year!

I was born and raised in Granite Quarry. I’m a Mom to two wonderful daughters. I have worked as a firefighter for 14 years (& plan to still be a part time firefighter on my days off). I enjoy art and social studies. I can’t wait to get to know the staff and students here at Richfield Elementary as I begin my career in education! Go Tigers!

This is my first year teaching at Richfield Elementary. I taught last year at Badin Elementary. I was a Preschool teacher for 15 years and a Manager at Tuesday Morning in Albemarle for 4 years. I spend my free time crocheting, diamond painting, reading, and playing with my cat. I also enjoy watching movies.
Open House was AMAZING (and so busy that no one took pictures)!
Instructional Updates, Notes, and Highlights - How you can help!
What we need your help with for these first two weeks is continuing the conversations at home about how important it is to know and understand (and follow) expectations at school. We will be working hard to create a shared vision for how we work together so that everyone is successful - practicing so that everyone knows how their classroom and school should run.
These first 2 weeks are critical for establishing routines, procedures, expectations, and setting the tone for strong, productive classrooms!
