Horizon
The NMC Horizon Project, is an ongoing research project that is designed to identify and describe up-coming technologies that are likely to have an impact on learning, teaching, and education. There are six important types of educational technology that are placed in the project. Each of these have been tied to essential questions of relevance. It is used for research that will help to inform the choices that institutions are making about technological education across the world.
BYOD
Also known as BYOT (Bring Your Own Technology), is people bringing their own laptops, tablets, smartphones, or other mobile devices with them to School or work.
Makerspace
Makerspace,also know as hackerspaces, are designated spaces where people have the ability to create, invent, design, and learn online.
3d-printer
It is the process of making a physical object from a three-dimensional digital model, by laying down many successive thin layers of a material.
Adaptive Learning Tech
Adaptive learning technologies is online programs that adjust to students’ learning process.
Digital Badge
Digital Badges are indicators of accomplishment or certification online in the form of micro-credits
Wearable Technology
Wearable technology are devices that can be worn by users, taking the form of an accessory and eventualy items such as clothing
