These students are able to display empathy, compassion, and respect for the needs and feelings of others around them. They need to have a personal commitment to service. These students act to make a positive difference to the lives of others and to the environment.
Early Release Days
K-5 students will be dismissed at 11:15 am and MYP at 12:15 pm on Tuesday, December 6th, 2022. K-5 students picked up after 11:45 am will incur a $1 per minute late fee for every minute until the student is picked up. MYP late fee charges begin accruing after 12:45 pm. The latest a student can be released that day for an 'earlier' dismissal is 10:45 am.
Late Fees
Monthly outstanding balance invoices are generated and shared with K-8 families via email and posted to the parent/guardian PowerSchool account each month. Personal checks/money- orders for payment can be shared with the child's homeroom teacher. If a parent/guardian pays online, then the receipt should be shared with our Business Manager, before the amount is 'cleared' in the child's account. As a reminder, students with a fee balance may not participate in extracurricular activities (clubs, dances, field trips, etc.).
Flag Football Tryout Events
On Wednesday, December 7th, 2022, eligible male student athletes in Grades 5-8/MYP Y3 can participate in Flag Football Tryout events from 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm.
On Monday, December 12th, and Tuesday, December 13th, 2022, eligible female student athletes in Grades 5-8/MYP Y3 can participate in Flag Football Tryout events from 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm.
Required paperwork must be on file prior to student athletes attending events.
Top Franklin Spirit Stick Dress Down
On Friday, December 9th, 2022, eligible students that purchased a Top Franklin Spirit Stick may 'dress down appropriately' to participate in the event.
Holiday Toy Drive
It's time for our annual Holiday Toy Drive, benefitting The Gathering and A Place in Time. Students who contribute a new and unwrapped toy to this year's Toy Drive will be eligible for a 'dress-down' day on Wednesday, Dedcember 21st, 2022.
Class Group Photos
Our students will be taking class group photos on Tuesday, December 13th and Wednesday, December 14th, 2022.
Regular uniform must be worn for all pictures taken at this event.
Field Trips
On
Wednesday, December 7th, 2022, eligible
National Junior Art Honor Society (NJAHS) students will be taking a field trip to
Boca Raton Museum of Art.
Eligible Grade 6/MYP Y1 students will attend a field trip to Kennedy Space Center, on Friday, December 9, 2022.
Eligible Grade 4 students will take a field trip on an Everglades Exploration on either Monday, December 19th, Tuesday, December 20th, or Wednesday, December 21st, 2022.
And we are taking our eligible Grade 5 students for a 'Day at Dickinson' on Thursday, December 15, 2022.
The last day for all Quarter 2 Clubs is Friday, December 16th, 2022.
Q3 Club Registration will open on Friday, December 16th, 2022, at 7:00 pm
and close on Tuesday, December 20th, 2022, at 11:45pm.
Payment is due within 48 hours of online registration submission.
Lunch Balance
K-8 families receive a text every Sunday afternoon/evening (via SwiftReach message) to remind them that their child's account is either low in funds, or in negative balance. Any checks/money- orders received by homeroom teachers will be sent to the attention of SLA Management in the cafeteria.
Required Signature Forms
It is mandatory that all students and their parent/guardian complete their Acknowledgement Form and return to your child's homerom teacher immediately.
Service Hour Program
- As agreed to by all Parents/Guardians and defined in the Parent School Contract, Franklin Academy families must complete service hours each academic year.
- Franklin Academy’s family service hour agreement states that Franklin families will be required to perform eight (8) hours of service for the academic year regardless of the number of students enrolled.
- Parents/Guardians can find their assigned Service Hour Identity Number on the Service Hour page inside of the PowerSchool Parent Portal.
- If you have more than one child that attends Franklin Academy they should all have the identical number.
Winter Break
Our campus will be closed on Monday, December 26th, 2022, until our offices open
again on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023, for telephone and in-person assistance.
Classes resume for students on Monday, January 9th, 2023.
MYP Dance tickets are all SOLD OUT!
2023-2024 Enrollment Application Window
On Thursday, December 1st, 2022, our enrollment window for the 2023-2024 school year opened! Families, who would like their child to attend Franklin Academy for the next school year, must complete an application online between December 1st and Thursday, February 28th, 2023. Existing Franklin families, already attending Franklin, but wishing to enroll siblings of a child already enrolled need to complete the application as well.
Campus Tours
Campus Tours for prospective families will begin in
January, 2023. Families may
reserve their spot online by entering their information located at

Campus Tours section.
