Boone Meadow Elementary - Mr. Noel's Class

Homework This Week

Spelling City Activities are going to be due on Friday, Feb. 26 (a week from this Friday), RAH is the only assignment due by Friday. There are Bonus opportunities for this week, please read below:

I've extended a bonus opportunity for all 3rd grade math students to complete the Home Links pages for Unit 9 (9-1, 9-2, & 9-3). The Home Links booklets should stay at home from now on and should be torn out of the booklet once students have completed pages. This is also a great way for parents to pick up on what your child is learning at school each week in math!

As always if you have extra time please encourage your child to work on their math fact fluency using Xtra Math or send me your Math Magician screenshots! This past week Shaun passed his subtraction facts and Kayla got her addition mastery certificate, way to go!!!

NEW READING BONUS: I am in the process of adding our class to NEWSELA, which is an online current events website for kids. I'm going to recommend particular articles and send to the class to read at home. Students can complete a short quiz once they have read an article and submit their results to me for BONUS sports or sphero on Friday!

Curriculum This Week

This week in ELA, we will...

*Learn how to plan our writing and include detail.

*Review classic roots and parts of speech.

This week in Math, we will...

*Begin Unit 9 which involves solving more complex multiplication and division problems.

ISTEP is right around the corner and the first part starts the Week of Feb. 27. I will have exact testing dates on next week's newsletter or as soon as I hear about them so you can plan appointments/etc. accordingly. In the meantime, there is a great practice website for reading and math exercises if you and your child are interested in practicing from home.
