Colts Chronicle provides information to parents, students, staff, and community.
Principal Notes:
Dear Cimarron Community,
At Cimarron we have many things to be thankful for. It is easy to take the little things for granted, yet it is the little things that make the biggest difference. This week I want to say thank you to all of you for the consistent support offered to our students and staff on a daily basis. The amount of support Cimarron receives through volunteering, attending school events such as plays and athletics, donations for classrooms, encouraging words to staff members are only a few of the many little things we are thankful for! As Thanksgiving nears, the Cimarron Staff would like to thank you for everything you do for our students.
Safety at Cimarron is on the forefront of our minds as this week ends. I would like to extend an invitation to all parents and community members to the January 7th School Accountability Committee Meeting. This meeting will be at 5:00pm in the Cimarron Library and will feature Rich Payne, DCSD Director of Security. He and I will spend time discussing safety and security at Cimarron. Here a the link to the SAC Website for more information.
Veterans Day at Cimarron made a positive impact on so many in our community, as we had four hundred Veterans and their guests. Also Caught RED Handed students were able to donate and take a tour of the Denver Rescue Mission this week. The local news station provided coverage of this event. Here is the link to the CBS News Video
Have a great week with you families!

Vape Update
Dear School Parents,
Colorado kids are vaping at epidemic levels, according to recently released Healthy Kids Colorado Survey (HKCS) data. E- vapor products, such as JUUL and other e-cigarettes, almost always contain nicotine and come in many shapes and sizes. Colorado students are using vape products (27 percent) at double the national rate (13 percent) and at nearly four times the rate of traditional cigarettes.
E-cigarette use among youth is not safe. Nicotine is highly addictive and can harm brain development, which continues until about age 25. In a statement released earlier this week the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said “The disturbing and accelerating trajectory of use we’re seeing in youth, and the resulting path to addiction, must end.”
