WACM FUNDRAISER FOR D200 SCHOOLS
"The Creation of the Sound of Music"
Saturday, August 29 @WNHS - 1:30pm and 7:00pm
WACM (Woodstock Area Community Ministries)is a 501C3 community based organization dedicated to helping people in need who live within the geographic boundaries of Woodstock Community School District 200. WACM's Board of Directors is made up of representatives from several Woodstock congregations.
WACM provides assistance to families through the Direct Assistance Program and also through winter clothing drives and emergency assistance to families. In the calendar year 2020, the WACM Board of Directors would like to focus community service on helping students in need who attend Woodstock Community School District 200 schools. Their efforts will focus on developing and supporting the “Kindness Closets” and other resources available at our district schools.
A fundraiser to support their efforts will be held on Saturday, August 29 at the Woodstock North High School Performing Arts Center. WACM will produce a 1:30 pm matinee performance and a 7:00 pm evening performance of Charles Troy's multimedia show "The Creation of the Sound of Music" Charles Troy is a musical theater historian, graphic designer, and former theater lyricist who has created more than 50 multimedia shows on musical theater subjects. His multimedia presentations are highly entertaining, brilliantly crafted, and have been enjoyed by audiences nationwide since 2006. Mr. Troy performed seven shows in 2018 and five shows in 2019 at the Woodstock Opera House to great applause. If ticket sales warrant, a Sunday August 30 matinee performance at 1:30 pm will be added. The per person ticket price for each show is $18. Tickets will be sold online through booktix.com and through the box office at Woodstock North High School.
There will be an "Early Bird" ticket sale that takes place late April and May prior to the beginning of summer recess and an "After Recess" ticket sale between August 10 and August 29 when school resumes in late summer.
More information will be provided when tickets are available.
