Academic Excellence and Achievement Every Scholar, Every Class, Every Day!
Greetings Mighty Bulldogs!
What an amazing quote! As we enter into this short week, please continue encouraging our Mighty Bulldog scholars to do their best at all times. I challenge each of you to read the above quote with our scholars at least twice each day (morning and night). I know you are saying, come on Mrs. Blake we have so much to do and now you want us to read this quote aloud with our children each day! YEP! Our kids need to be reminded of this just as much as we adults do. We are all braver than we think--we wake up each day and have faced this new Covid-19 world head on, doing what we have to do to make it. We are all stronger than we believe--we sure are; many of us are managing to take care of our children while working and some even seeing after additional family members while not missing a beat--we have been persevering despite what it may look like. We are all smarter than we think--we sure are; many of us never imagined we would become co-teachers (yes you are) and have to figure out how to help our kids learn this "new math," but you are doing it! So, I hope you take me up on this and do as requested--it will help keep positive energy around and I bet even bring a smile or two to your faces.
As always, I thank you for your continued partnership and working with us to ensure our scholars are successful. Have a great week on purpose!

1st Quarter Virtual Honor Roll Programs will take place on Wednesday, December 16, 2020. Invitations will be sent out by homeroom teachers no later than this Wednesday.
Join Us for Our First Sessions of The Mighty Bulldog Parent University
A time for Brandywine ES practitioners to partner with you, our Co-Teachers, and build a space where we can share strategies that will support the needs of our scholars during distance learning. These first sessions have been identified by the school and will be offered by grade band. At the conclusion of the sessions, you will have an opportunity to complete an evaluation where you will provide suggestions for the next sessions. We will aim to address academic and socio-emotional concerns. Please plan to join us for all sessions which will be offered during the Week of December 14, 2020--exact dates and times will be forthcoming. We hope you can attend as we are in this together and it takes ALL OF US working together to ensure the success of our scholars.

A Message from Mrs. Curry, PTA President
I wanted to share some information that may assist parents who work for the Federal Government with children who need extra academic support due to the pandemic and disruptions to schooling. The Federal Employee Education and Assistance (FEEA) fund has partnered with Tutor.com to provide free one-on-one online help from professional tutors in nearly all K-12 subjects. Currently, only employees who earn under $100,000 per year are eligible to enroll, but they may offer to employees who earn above this threshold if funding permits in the future. You can learn more and sign up by CLICKING HERE.

Distance Learning Handbook
The purpose of this handbook is to compile, in one place, the policies, procedures and forms that will enable Brandywine Elementary scholars to successfully fulfill his/her responsibilities during Virtual Learning. It has been prepared with the sincere hope that it will be used as a ready reference by families with concerns related to classroom procedures, administration policies and organization norms.
Suggestions on how to become better acquainted with your scholar(s), how to learn about school routines and procedures, and how to secure professional help are included.
The adopted policies are subject to modification, as situations require. The need may arise for revision of this handbook. Feel free to offer suggestions. It is only through cooperative efforts of everyone concerned that we hope to create a wholesome atmosphere/environment for all.
