Unfortunately, Chatham County has experienced increased Covid cases since the start of the school year, key points from the current SCCPSS Covid policy:
*There will be no parent notification of positive Covid cases within the school.
*Any positive scholars will be excused from school for days 0-5 after the start of symptoms. A positive scholar may return to school on day 6 if they have not had a fever for 24 hours and symptoms have improved. Upon return to school wearing a mask is recommended through day 10 after symptom start but is not required.
*Any scholar who has been exposed to a known Covid positive person may continue to return to school if they are symptom free. Masking is recommended for 10 days after last exposure to the positive person. In the 10 days after exposure, if the scholar begins to show symptoms, they are now considered a positive case and thus will be excused from school for days 0-5 after the start of symptoms. A positive scholar may return to school on day 6 if they have not had a fever for 24 hours and symptoms have improved. Upon return to school wearing a mask is recommended through day 10 after symptom start but is not required.
*Please notify the nurse ASAP of any scholar or family Covid positive cases. You may email, text, or call with any questions or concerns about the Covid policy or any other illness.
