Reading is FUN
Struggling Readers
Struggling readers are in every classroom. With the right strategies for teaching these students, their reading skills can be improved. Try differentiated instruction, creating a literacy rich environment, and intense intervention strategies.
The Correlation to Socioeconomic Status
Those from a low socioeconomic status are more likely to be struggling readers compared to their peers from higher socioeconomic statuses. These low-income, struggling readers lack the resources needed to become better readers such as actual reading material, access to libraries, and high quality education due to the fact they probably go to a high poverty school.
