7 Tardies = 1 day of absence
Reporting an Absence
If your student(s) will be absent from school, please make sure to call our office or attendance line to report their absence. A student’s absence must be reported within 48 hours of their absence to be marked as Excused. We will attempt to call home if we have not received a call regarding a student’s absence. If we are unable to reach anyone, the student will be marked as Unexcused for the day. If your student has a doctors appointment, we highly recommend bringing back a doctor’s note. With a doctor’s note on file, we are able to change the student’s absence to Medical and it will not count against their attendance. The doctor’s office can also fax us a doctor’s note.
Students are allowed up to 10 excused days in a school year. After 10 excused days any absences will be marked as unexcused unless a doctor’s note is provided.
Students will be truant after the following:
Truancy will lead to Truancy Classes or referral to District Attorney –Wyandotte and DCF Referral

- 5 unexcused absences in a semester
