Letters to Santa
I sent the letters to Santa home for you to fill out with your child. These are due back by the 14th if you want them published in the Guard. This is a fun activity we do every year.
Homework
I am trying out something new this month instead of Scholastic News issues. I am sending home a book with each homework packet for your child to read throughout the week. These books were chosen based on your child's reading level so that they will have a "just right" book to read. Please return the books each week with the completed homework packet so that we may exchange them for another the following week. This will only work if the books are returned so that others may enjoy them the next week.
Thank you so much for your help with this.
Book Orders LAST DAY TO TURN IN FOR CHRISTMAS!
The book order I sent home on Friday is due the 9th in order to receive the books before Christmas break. If you are ordering books as a surprise for your child, please let me know and I will find a way to get them to you so as not to ruin the surprise.
Grinch Day
We will be having a little grinchy fun on the 19th of December by doing academic activities centered around the Grinch. Your child is welcome to dress up fro this day by wearing green, dressing like a "who-ville" character or the Grinch himself!
Christmas Feast
It is a second grade tradition to have a classroom feast the last day before Christmas break. We ask that you send your child's favorite Christmas dish for our feast. I will be setting up around 11:00 on that day. You are welcome to send your food in with your child that morning or drop it off at the office. This is a special time for me to spend with your child before they are all yours for the long Christmas break. I will send any leftovers or dishes home with your child that afternoon. It is an early out day. We will dismiss at 12:45. I sent out the sign up. If you did not receive it, let me know ASAP!
Holiday Shop: Our day to shop is December 15th!
PTO does an amazing job with so many things throughout the year. One of the highlights for the students is our Holiday Shop. This is not a fundraiser. This is a fun opportunity for your child to show independence by choosing gifts to surprise you and other family members with the money you allot them. DOn't forget to turn in your envelopes!
