We Count Ourselves Lucky at PMES!

February was a month to remember with our Enchanted Garden Dance, Mother-Son Field Night and Lunch with a Loved One held in conjunction with our Book Fair. Each of these events was a success for our PTA and will afford our students with even more opportunities in the classroom. Looking ahead to March, there's so much in store! Be sure to mark your calendars for our exciting spring time events. We are lucky to have such an engaged community here at PMES and we can't do it without your support and participation!

5th GRADE SKATE NIGHT-THURSDAY, MARCH 2ND

5th Grade Friends and their families are invited to a Skate night at Skate Country Buford on Thursday, March 2nd from 6-8pm. Cost is $6 and will be paid at the door. Each PMES student will receive a free small fountain drink. Please be sure to let them know you are with PMES! 5th graders-wear your 5th grade t-shirt! This is NOT a school-sponsored event. All students must be accompanied by an adult.

EXCEPTIONAL CHILDRENS' WEEK MARCH 6-10

Join us as we celebrate Exceptional Children's Week! We have several activities planned for our SPED students including a wildlife encounter show, a special dance and so much more! Stay tuned to see photos of all the fun we're having throughout the week!

Exceptional Children's Week is a held in partnership with the Council for Exceptional Children. CEC’s mission is to improve, through excellence and advocacy, the education and quality of life for children and youth with exceptionalities and to enhance the engagement of their families.

DADS ON DUTY BREAKFAST, 3/7 & 3/9

Calling all Dads! Our Dads on Duty (formerly All Pro Dads) breakfast will be held Tuesday, March 7th and Thursday, March 9th. This event is not grade specific, so feel free to come either day that works best for your family. Doors will open at 7am. Grab your pre-ordered Chick-fil-a breakfast and listen to Dean Pees share some stories about his time with the NFL. Breakfast will conclude at 7:45 so kiddos can start the school day.

SCHOOL STORE-MARCH 24th-29th

The PMES School Store will be open for business beginning Friday, March 24th through Wednesday, March 29th. Paper order forms will be sent home in Friday Folders and can be returned to your child's homeroom teacher. All orders will be filled by Wednesday, March 29th. Orders are first come, first serve, so be sure to turn in your order form promptly!

GOT SNEAKERS CAMPAIGN TO BE HELD MARCH 13-APRIL 14

Kids outgrown their shoes? Looking for a way to get rid of them? DON'T THROW THEM AWAY! Donate them to PMES' GOT SNEAKERS CAMPAIGN and help raise money for our school's PE program!

All reusable sneakers from our sneaker drive fundraiser program are recirculated to secondhand markets so people can access quality, pre-owned footwear at affordable prices. All heavily used and damaged footwear is recycled to reuse materials or to convert waste into new energy. In return, PMES will receive compensation for each pair of shoes we donate to Got Sneakers.

How can you help? We need your old sneakers and footwear! Collection bins will be set up in the front lobby for each grade level starting March 13th and there will be a school-wide competition to see which grade level donates the highest number of shoes!

PMES BINGO NIGHT-THURSDAY, MARCH 23RD

Come out for BINGO NIGHT, Thursday, March 23rd in the PMES Cafeteria! We will be holding two sessions-the first from 5-6pm and the second from 6:30-7:30pm. Bingo cards are $5 and you may purchase up to 2 additional cards per person. Several games will be played in each session and lots of great PRIZES will be awarded! WORRIED ABOUT DINNER? No problem! We are offering the option to pre-order a large pizza to feed your family at the event for $10. Large pizzas are available for PRE-ORDER ONLY, but slices of pizza, snacks and drinks will all be available for purchase. Head on over to our MemberHub site to purchase your tickets today!

ATTENTION 5TH GRADE PARENTS-OSBORNE MIDDLE PTA NEEDS YOU!

Attention 5th Grade Parents - Interested in what Osborne Middle School PTA volunteer opportunities look like? While events, responsibilities, and faces change, our middle school students and staff still count on the PTA to work behind the scenes, fundraising for grant programs, planning and putting on celebrations/school events, and to support in creating positive experiences that assist in social development. Our students still need YOU!

STAFF APPRECIATION FUND

The year may have just started, but our Hospitality Committee is already looking ahead to May! We are in need of donations to our Staff Appreciation fund to provide our teachers and staff with special lunches and treats for Teacher Appreciation Week and End of the Year. Our Hospitality Committee does a wonderful job of putting these events together for our teachers and staff and we want to make sure we end the year right!
