Holiday Incentives
Dear Parents,
The holiday season is fast approaching and the kids excitement level is on the rise. During the holiday season first grade will be filling a tree with lights. Each day the class has a chance to earn 5 lights for the tree. If they earn all 5 lights they will get a small prize. If you are able, please send in a small treat for the class. Target, Wal-Mart, and Dollar Tree have great themed dollar sections this time of year. Listed below are some suggested ideas but the students are excited about anything. Please make sure that you send in at least 22 of the item If you have any questions about this please feel free to email. We will start having the daily challenge December 1st.
Thanks,

Curriculum Corner!
In math, we will be learning to compare two digit numbers using the terms greater than, less than, or equal to. We will also be working on mentally stating 10 more or 10 less than any number. Please continue to work with your students at home on these skills.
In reading, we will be reading fiction books and focusing on characters and setting. I will be sending home question stems, and you can ask your student specific questions based on the book they read on RAZ Kids.
These three weeks are so important to your child's success in first grade. When we get back from our winter break, your students will be individually assessed for reading and math. It is crucial that our students are reading over break to ensure they can be as successful as possible.
