A Note from the PTA President

Get ready to READ! National Reading Month is still another month away in March, but to prepare for it, please stop by our upcoming PTA Book Fair (February 11-14). All proceeds will be given directly to the media center which helps the staff continue to give our students an enhanced learning environment.

Thanks to an awesomely successful fall fundraiser, during our January meeting we voted to gift the Leadership Discretion Team up to $12,000 towards needs/wants for English Landing. As of today, PTA has already delivered $2000 worth of items to the recess team to be used both for indoor and outdoor recess. It is an honor and privilege that the PTA can share this abundance to enhance learning and recreation for our students. Thank you for sharing your resources to make these donations possible.

Also, during the January meeting, we formed a committee to create a slate of officers for our next school year (2020-2021). We will vote on these officers at our March 2 meeting at 6:30pm in the media center. Babysitting will be provided compliments of the Park Hill School District A-Plus Scholarship Program. Please plan to join us!

Clothing Center

February is English Landing's month to support the Park Hill Clothing Center! Volunteers are needed to help sort goods and staff the store during shopping events. Our goal is to have 40 volunteers help out this month! Adult volunteer times are listed below. Student groups 3rd grade and up (youth groups, scouts, sports teams etc) can also set up a private volunteer time to help with sorting donations. The clothing center relies on our community support to serve kids in our district.

If you are able to volunteer during one of the shifts listed below or would like to set up a volunteer time for your student group, please contact:

Jada Rawlings (jada8125@gmail.com) or Megan Amash at megan.amash@gmail.com

Shopping days:

About the PTA Clothing Center:

The PTA of the Park Hill School District runs a clothing center that provides free, gently used clothing and new socks and underwear to district students.

The PTA Clothing Center serves all Park Hill School District students from kindergarten through 12th grade, and the PTA asks you to bring some proof that you are enrolled in a Park Hill school. This could be a student ID, bus pass, dated letter from a principal or social worker, class schedule or enrollment form.

Donations are welcomed at the Clothing Center, which is at 8009 N Atkins, just south of the Gerner Family Early Education Center. Please make sure your donations are clean, in good condition and bagged in kitchen-sized bags that the volunteers can lift.

The PTA needs student and adult volunteers for sorting donations and adult volunteers to staff the center on shopping days.

Will your students attend Lakeview Middle School next year? Lakeview Middle School PTA is looking for officers for the 2020 – 2021 school year. Please contact current LMS PTA president Susan Green (sgreen@shb.com) by February 28 if interested.

2019-2020 Yearbooks

Yearbook Sales are open! The order deadline for the 2019-2020 yearbook is April 3, 2020.

Our NEW PTA WEBSITE is up and running! Visit https://englishlandingpta.membershiptoolkit.com/home to see everything your PTA has to offer this year. On our new site, you can see upcoming calendar events, buy memberships, view the student directory, sign up to volunteer and much, much more.

You can also access the directory and the calendar from your phone by downloading the Membership Toolkit app after you have created your account! For any questions, please contact Lauren Jeppson at lpjeppson@gmail.com.

Box Tops

Box Tops has gone digital! You can help earn free money for English Landing by downloading the app and scanning your receipts within 14 days of purchase. The app will automatically grab the eligible items and credit the school. Download the app here: https://www.boxtops4education.com/ and follow these steps.

If you have traditional Box Tops clips at home, please send them with your child to school. We will still earn cash for all clipped Box Tops until they expire. Better yet, you can “double dip” during the packaging transition by clipping traditional Box Tops AND scanning your store receipt containing participating products.

The PTA is currently hosting a classroom competition to see which classroom will collect the most box tops. Please be sure to list the name of your child's teacher on all box top submissions until April 30,2020. The classroom with the most box tops will win a pizza party in May!

Shatto Milk Company's Bottle Cap Collection

English Landing PTA is collecting bottle caps from Shatto Milk Company glass bottles.

Shatto cap collecting is still on! We’ve made it to 1,000 - just 500 more needed for EL students to name a calf on Shatto Farms! Please send in your rinsed caps. The collection box is located in the lost and found room.
