FitBit
An app that tracks activity and sleep
Features: What does this app do?
The app tracks how many steps you take and how long and well you sleep. I highly recommend this app because it is fairly accurate and easy to use. You can make yourself a set goal for how many steps you want to take everyday, how many miles, etc. My favorite feature of the FitBit app is that you can make challenges that you can do with other friends that own a FitBit device. For example a challenge that your can do is to see who can take the most steps over the weekend, in a day, over weekdays. These challenges can motivate you to be more active so that you can win the challenge. There are also different kinds of FitBit devices. The Flex only tracks activity and sleep. The Charge, Surge, and Charge HR tracks stairs climbed, activity, sleep, and heart rate. So depending on which device you use, you are able to tracks certain types of activity.
More Information about the FitBit app
This app is very user friendly, but the only problem is that in order to use the app, you need to own a FitBit tracker/device. If your were to log out of your account, Your information is automatically saved to your account and you will not be able to lose information. In order to use the FitBit app, it requirers you to make an account, which include giving them some personal information such as your email. Because the app "comes" with the device that you get from FitBit, there are no limitations to what you can use in the app. This app would be best for those who are more active, or wish to become more active. Middle schoolers can benefit from this app because it inspires more active activity and it is fun to do challenges with friends.
Personal Review
Personally I really like the FitBit app because it is fun to use and motivates me to be more active in my daily life. My favorite feature of the FitBit app is that you can make challenges that you can do with other friends that own a FitBit device. For example a challenge that your can do is to see who can take the most steps over the weekend, in a day, over weekdays. These challenges can motivate you to be more active so that you can win the challenge. Right now I am doing the weekday challenge with a few of my friends! The only problem that I have with the app is that if you just shake your hand that has the wristband on it, it think that the movement is you taking a step so it counts, but other than that, the app is fairly accurate.
