Dear John Wetten Families,
As we plan for Hybrid learning, there has been a lot of reflecting about how far we've come and all we have to be excited about moving forward. For those families that have chosen the Hybrid model, we are currently making videos providing an overview of what this model will look like at John Wetten. We are planning to share the videos, as well as more detailed information in a couple of weeks.
Our Hybrid model will provide instruction to students in the classroom during the afternoon two days per week in “A” day and “B” day cohorts. “A” cohort will attend in the afternoon on Monday and Tuesday. “B” cohort will attend in the afternoon on Thursday and Friday. We are carefully planning how classes will be divided into those two days in the afternoons. Students in the Hybrid model will have the same teacher in Hybrid as they did in CDL. If you choose to have your student stay in CDL only, your teacher will not change. If your student is currently in the PLP model and switch to Hybrid, your student's teacher will change and you will no longer be in the PLP model.
If you haven’t filled out the survey about which model you would like your student to be in, please do so. We need 100% response rate so we can know exactly which model your student will be attending. Here is a link to the survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HybridGSD
Transitioning to Hybrid learning is yet another big change. Care, connections, and safety remain our highest priorities as always. We know there will be bumps to work out and things we'll improve on. There will be more details to come over the next few weeks.
Sincerely,
Michael Clutter

Spots will be first come, first served. Please sign up by Friday (1/29) using the following link: https://forms.gle/M6QYxz6WSrEn4sFo9

*If your student is interested in this class, please read the Bandlab for Education privacy policies which can be found here: https://blog.bandlab.com/edu-privacy-policy/ . To cooperate with COPPA, students will need to turn in a signed parent permission form to use Bandlab for education which Ms. Smithson will collect during the first few weeks of the class.
If you have any questions, please email Ms. Smithson at smithsonc@gladstone.k12.or.us.
School Supplies
New Box Tops Program
During this challenging time, our teachers and students need more help than ever.
No matter what school looks like, Box Tops for Education is a fast and easy way for
you to help out from home.
The Box Tops program has been around for over 20 years, and it really works. In fact,
Box Tops for Education has helped give almost a billion dollars to schools since 1996.
In 2019, the program evolved to become digital so that you can earn for your school
with just the touch of a button.
HERE’S HOW IT WORKS: Buy participating products and use the Box Tops mobile
app to scan your store receipt. The app identifies eligible products and automatically
adds Box Tops to our school's earnings online. Even if you’re shopping online or
doing grocery pickup, you can still submit your e-receipts and earn Box Tops. Twice a
year, our school gets a check!
Your earnings may seem small, but they really do add up. The more people that participate,
the bigger the impact we can make. So let's give our teachers the support
they need and help give more kids the opportunity to dream. Little by little, we can help make a big difference.
