Week 1 Term 3, Friday 29 July
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Welcome back to the new term everyone!
It's wonderful to have everyone back. A special welcome to our new children in Room 14 and Mrs Loader (see photo below).
I received wonderful news a few weeks ago that our school was selected to receive 23 new bikes from ASB.
Myself, along with our school leaders, attended a presentation at the Napier Conference Centre where we were presented with the bikes.
This is such a kind and wonderful gesture and I wish to thank the team at ASB immensely for their kindness and generosity.
We are going to gift the bikes to children in our school that need a new bike (I discussed the difference between a need and a want with Manawanui and Manaaki Syndicates yesterday).
Included with each bike is a safety helmet.
The bikes are exactly as pictured below. They have a 20" frame (I've included a sizing guide for your reference).
If your child(ren) need a bike, please email: admin@onekawa.school.nz
If we receive more than 23 requests, we will undertake a draw.
Please note - We will not be publishing photos or names of those who receive a bike for privacy reasons.

Juicies!
The school council sold Juices today... Thanks to all those who were able to buy one. We raised $240 today!
Apologies to those children who may have received a half frozen Jucie... we will sort out the freezer for next week!!!
As we have some children with special dietary requirements, we ask that children don't buy jucies for friends - thanks however to those children for their kindness!
The councillors did a superb job of organising the juicies, handling the money and distributing them to the children. Way to go!
Our new, new entrant class has opened!
Room 14, our new, new entrant class opened this week! A big welcome to our new children and teacher Mrs Charlotte Loader!
New Enrolments for the second half of 2022
If you haven't already done so, please let us know if you are enrolling a new entrant child between now and the end of the year. This is to help with determining whether we need to open another new entrant classroom. Thanks!
Onekawa School Quiz Night is back!
After a two year hiatus, the Onekawa School Quiz night is coming back!
Be sure to save the date: FRIDAY 16 SEPTEMBER!
We will let you know further details, including how to purchase tickets, early next term.
Team Pipi will be hosting this fun event and are in the process of obtaining sponsorship for the evening. If you know of any businesses who may like to support the quiz night, please share the letter with them below.
