Hour of Code
Participate with your class the week of December 8 - 14!
An Hour of Code Comes to Tanglewood
Next week, Dec. 8-14, students around the world will participate in the Hour of Code, an initiative aimed at increasing participation in computer science and making it more available to women and underrepresented students of of color. Computer science helps develop logic, problem solving, perseverance and creativity -- and, in South Carolina, there are nearly 10 times as many jobs as there are graduates in computer sciences.
Let's give Tanglewood Students this opportunity!
We are asking for 1 teacher per team to participate. This way, every student takes part in the Hour of Code.
And this is just a start. They can continue to work on it later - before school, after school, at home. You may even ask students to design an app or game as a project in your class later this year.
Check out the info and resources below and let us know if you will be hosting Hour of Code in your classes one day next week!

One Teacher - One Day of Class
Participation involves very little prep work. Tutorials include videos and puzzles that students work at their own pace. All they need is their Chromebook and a link and you are ready to go!
Come on! All the cool kids are doing it!
