Message from Mrs. Murray
Dear Rankin Families,
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year. Hopefully, you have had a relaxing summer filled with lots of fun. Our staff is excited to begin the school year and we welcome both new and returning students. We are all part of a wonderful school filled with a very experienced, high quality staff. As your principal, it is always a privilege being part of such a dynamic and successful group. We would like to invite all students and families Tuesday, August 27th between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm to drop off your school supplies and meet your new teacher. We encourage you to put money on school lunch accounts and get any first day jitters and questions resolved prior to our first day August 28th at 8:30 am.
As parents, your involvement with your child’s school experience is very important. I know with busy schedules, it can be difficult finding time to volunteer in the classroom. If an opportunity comes your way, please let your child’s teacher know and we can have you participate in classroom activities. Also, we encourage your involvement in our Parent Teacher Organization. It is a fantastic way to meet other parents and play an integral role in making a positive difference in our school. We also will begin our Watch DOGS (Dads of Great Students) again this fall. We love having our male role models here helping. Our kids loved it! We encourage all dads, grandpas, uncles, and older brothers to participate.
We will continue our weekly newsletter emailed, it will update you on important events, activities, and other school related information.
We have been working hard this summer preparing for our upcoming school year, I can’t believe we have been open for one whole school year and it is already time to start year two! The custodial staff has worked very hard in maintaining the character and cleanliness of our beautiful building. Our new four-plex of monkey bars should be going in this week to be ready for our start to the year. There is good reason to have a lot of pride in our school environment and we look forward in continuing our successful educational efforts by bringing effective and meaningful learning experiences to our Rankin students.
Again, we welcome you and look forward to seeing you soon. Below is a list of our upcoming events for August and September. Be sure to like our Facebook and Instagram pages to keep up to date with all things Rankin. If you have any questions, please give us a call at 300-0600.
