Famous Experiments: Classical Conditioning Pavlov's Dogs- When dogs see food they start to drool but when Pavlov started doing experiments based on that, he noticed that the dogs were actually reacting to the lab coats. Every time the dogs were given food, the person serving the food had on a lab coat. The dogs started expecting food every time they saw someone in a lab coat. Pavlov tried to figure out how it was all linked. He would also strike a bell when the dogs were served. The dogs then associated the sound of the bell with being fed, and after a while the sound of the bell the dogs responded by drooling.
