The Music Man starts Thursday, 7pm EHS PAC!
FBLA - Veteran's Day
Varsity Soccer - Coach Erpelding
Last Tuesday night the EHS soccer team lost to Heritage Christian 0-1 in the state quarterfinal game and the lose was one of the most gut wrenching heart breaking losses I have ever been apart of. T o go from last Thursday total excitement to Tuesday's disappointment is a complete roller coaster ride of emotions. From the players, to the coaches, to the parents, the fans, the school and community.
We felt like we were the better team for the majority of the game. We created more chances, took more shots, we had the much more dangerous opportunities but the one thing we didn't have, and honestly in the end the only thing that matters, was a goal. I don't feel the better team won but that is not always the case.
What I can say is that every single player gave everything they had! I always tell the boys in these situations, don't ever look back 2, 5, 10 years from now and say "I wish I would have played harder, I wish I would have cared more, I wish I would have given better effort." Be able to look back and say "I gave everything." That is much different than the what if's of a game. If only I would have made that pass or scored that goal or stuck with my mark. Those things will happen when you win games and I can say this, every single one of our boys gave everything they had that night. The guys that didn't get on the field were probably the most engaged in a game than I have ever had a bench. I could have called on anyone of them and they wouldn't have skipped a beat. That right there is what embodies a team.
We could not be more proud of what this team has accomplished this season. 12-6-1 School Record, 5-2-1 School League Record, 54 Goals scored School Record, most shots taken and shots on goal in a season School Record, single season goals record broke by junior Keaton Herron with 11, I'm sure the single season Assists record was broken by Keaton with 7 but this is not 100%. School record for assists in a season as a team with 36 and Regional Champs! The accomplishments of this team is tremendous and will never be forgot as long as we are around!
We would like to thank the parents, fans, administration and the community for all the support that has been given to us the year! It was amazing and the boys felt it and knew about it. The crowd and atmosphere at the quarterfinal game was truly amazing. This is something I knew could happen when I came in five years ago and when I talked about it, people thought I was nuts. But from day one every single player bought in and this year just goes to show when kids buy in, even after they have graduated, what can happen and what that culture can look like. All the hard work that the kids have put in over the summers and during the seasons and during the spring seasons. If you don't think the boys successful seaoson doesn't fuel the girls and if the girls do well doesn't fuel the boys....you are crazy. They want to out do each other and they want to see each other do well and they are each others biggest supporters. It eventually pays off if you believe it will. Every single ounce of credit goes to the kids., period! That is what this whole thing is about it's about the kids and always will be about the kids.
Our seniors Braeden, Brant and Caden have been amazing over these last four years. They did everything we asked of them and they did things the right way! They leave as the winningest class with 31 wins over 4 years. If this tells you anything our program previously had 22 wins over 12 years. This class had 31 in 4!!! I think that number speaks for itself! Thank you boys and I Love you!
