Message from the Principal:

Good afternoon,

Our state testing is about half way done at this point, and the students are really working hard. I know that "testing season" can be difficult for students and teachers alike. As I have talked to students I have told them that they have already done the hard part (learning) and now they have an opportunity to "show what you know." Almost every day I have been able to greet the students with a "high five" and a message of encouragement.

Over the weekend, we had over 60 people come from Central Christian Church volunteer to come rake, sweep and clean our school. In addition, they also assembled five picnic tables, pulled out five garden beds (for our new outdoor classroom), painted our old picnic tables, painted our basketball courts, labeled our hallways, and much more. We really appreciate all that they did to help provide our campus with some TLC.

Additionally, Dads' Club was able to purchase some artificial turf for our gaga ball pit, and it looks great! This game has been so popular for our students that the grass was dying, so there was dust everywhere. Also, we finally have our marquee running, and the demolition of the old one is done.

During the summer the carpet and tile around campus will be replaced and we just got to pick out the colors. We also will have the outside of our campus painted. We are so excited for all these upgrades to celebrate our 20th year during the 19/20 school year.

As always, I feel that it's my job to serve the community at Settler's Point, so if there is ever anything I can do to help, please feel free to contact me.

News from the PTSO:

Thank you to everyone who showed up for our MOD Pizza fundraiser! It was a huge success and every penny will go directly back into the school.

Be on the lookout for an email from the school letting you know when the yearbooks are delivered. If you haven't purchased one yet, they will be available on a first come first serve basis once they come in.

News from Muttigrees' Club:

Muttigrees' Club, which consist 4th through 6th graders, is sponsoring a service project to collect dog and cat food, supplies, toys, treats, for an animal rescue. The students in this club meet bi-monthly and wanted to give back to their community. The service project is named Helping Paws and donations will be happily taken from March 25 through April 29. We will have a box in the office where donations may be dropped off. Any donations will be appreciated and happily accepted. Please help support our students with this thoughtful and kind service project that they are excited to be a part of. They are thrilled to give back to the community, and the animals that they love. Please contact Mrs. Shaw at or Ms. Johnson at should you have any questions. From the students in Muttigrees', and the sponsors, thank you for your support.
