Superintendent's Weekly Update -May 13, 2016

Otsego Parents and Community Members:

The State FFA Degree is the highest degree a member can earn in high school and based on a student's agriculture projects, leadership activities, career development events and community service.

The Otsego FFA Chapter started in 1959 and is 57 years old. These seven bring our chapter's total State FFA Degree recipients to 139 total.

Students who earned it on Friday night were: Matt Hannewald, Lauren Gray

Colton Battin, Aubrey Mazey, Morgan Mazey, Drew Teifke, and Shannon Weihl. We are very proud of this fine group of students! It is an amazing accomplishment.

SUMMER READING PROGRAM:

The Weston Library and Otsego Schools are excited to announce that we will be teaming up this summer to offer a summer reading program in each Village the month of June and July. We will have weekly story time for children birth to 4 years old, and programs and prizes for students 5-18, and weekly sensory activities and library time for special needs individuals. The theme this year will be ON YOUR MARK GET SET READ.

There will be a combined Reading RewardsDay on August 1st from 10:00 to 12:00 at the Otsego Elementary Commons. There will be games, pizza, and drawings to win prizes such as a Fitbit, IPAD, Gift cards, Bikes, Mini Scooter, Xbox and lots more! There will be bussing available from Weston, Haskins, and Grand Rapids on this day.

The more you read and attend the weekly events, the better your chance at winning awesome prizes! Please contact the school or the Weston Public Library for more information.

It will be on May 25th at 6 pm in the auditorium. The pipeline seems to be changing course quite often. If you are interested in hearing more information please come out to this meeting.
