AFSA K-12 Conference Sign Up Information
K-8 Conference Sign up:
AFSA K-8 conferences are Student-led. Please bring students to conferences so they can share the presentations they have prepared for you. Fall conferences focus on goal setting for the year.
Please sign up with your child's homeroom/ advisor FIRST. Then select times with other teachers that you'd like to meet with. Please only choose teachers that your child currently has classes with. Special education teachers, school counselor, and specialists are all available. If your child works with Title I teachers, please also set up a conference with Ms. Cartelli for reading or Ms. Bald for math. If your child has an IEP, please set up a conference with their case manager.
- Grades K-2: Homeroom teachers will have the most robust information. Please choose them first.
- Grades 3-4: Mr. Melling and Ms. Veldhuizen are hosting joint conferences. Both teachers will be present to provide comprehensive feedback. Select them first, then add Ms. Stumpner for Ag or others as needed.
- Grades 5-6: Ms. Heider and Ms. Sarah are hosting joint conferences. Both teachers will be present to provide comprehensive feedback. Select them first, then add Mr. Smith for Theater or others as needed.
- Grades 7-8: Select your child's Advisor first, then include other teachers as needed. Students taking Geometry at the HS can schedule through the HS link with Rasha Tan.
Click here to sign up for a conference at the K-8 building.
AFSA High School (grades 9-12) Conference Sign up:
When signing up for high school conferences with classroom teachers, you can also sign up to meet with your students’ advisory teacher or case manager. It is beneficial to check your students' progress in the Powerschool gradebook and meet with teachers to identify areas of growth in classes where they are missing assignments.
If you would like to discuss your student's overall graduation progress or if you have scheduling questions, Mark Prokopowicz (Mr. P), our academic counselor, will be available as well.
Conference Day Staff Donation Request

National Hispanic Heritage Month
For National Hispanic Heritage month our students are discussing the meaning behind the month long celebration, the history and the culture.
Did you know?
Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.
The observation started in 1968 as Hispanic Heritage Week under President Lyndon Johnson and was expanded by President Ronald Reagan in 1988 to cover a 30-day period starting on September 15 and ending on October 15. It was enacted into law on August 17, 1988, on the approval of Public Law 100-402.
The day of September 15 is significant because it is the anniversary of independence for Latin American countries Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. In addition, Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence days on September 16 and September18, respectively. Also, Columbus Day or Día de la Raza, which is October 12, falls within this 30 day period.
