CJHS Counseling Department Staff

Mrs. Eva Marie Rottach, Counseling Secretary

Hello! I started working for Clarkston Junior High School 7 years ago having been hired as the Counseling Secretary. I will be the first person you will see when you walk into the Counseling office! I will try to answer any questions you have, or will set you up with an appointment for you to meet with your counselor. I am also the receiver of attendance notes, so if you ever miss a day of school, be sure to give me your doctor's note!

Mrs. Rottach graduated from Oakland University with a BA in Communications.

Mrs. Sarah Hester, Counselor (A - G)

Hi CJHS Students & Parents! I am the School Counselor for students with the last names A-G. My role is to help students with academic concerns, college/career goals, and social-emotional needs. This is my 4th year at CJHS, but my 14th year in education. I earned my Undergraduate Degree from Oakland University and My Masters Degree from DePaul University. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, tennis, traveling, swimming, and taking walks. I can't wait to get to know you!

Mrs.Shannon Donnellon, Counselor (H - O)

Hello CJHS Families! I am the CJHS School Counselor for students with the last name H-O. I am here to assist and support students and families with academic, social/emotional and college or career goals. This will be my 10th year in education and my 2nd year in Clarkston Schools. I received my Bachelor's degree from Michigan State University (Go Green!) and my Masters Degree from Oakland University. Outside of work I enjoy going to the beach, tailgating with my family at MSU football games (season ticket holder here!), traveling to new places and of course binging shows on all the streaming avenues. Please don't hesitate to approach me and say hi!

Ms. Allison Cumper, Counselor (P - Z)

This is my third school year as a school counselor and I'm excited to be working in the school district I attended as a student. I graduated from OU for undergrad and Detroit-Mercy, for my masters in school counseling. I played club lacrosse at Oakland for four years and have also coached girls lacrosse for many schools around Oakland County. In my free time, I take my Goldendoodle puppy, Coach, to the dog park and on long walks, I enjoy reading new books, and spending time with my family & friends. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone here at CJHS.

Mrs. Lynn Larson, Social Worker

Hello! I am Lynn Larsen and I am one of the social workers here in the Counseling Center. I received my MSW from University of Michigan and then launched my social work career in Lake Orion at the elementary level. In 2010 I came to Clarkston, where I have worked with students at adult transitions, the high school and now at the junior high. 2021-22 is the start of my 8th school year at CJHS. I'm excited for the year ahead!

Mrs. Natalie Stevens, Social Worker

I am a fully licensed, master's level, certified School Social Worker (SSW). I earned my Bachelors in Communicative Sciences & Disorders from MSU in 2007, and my Master's in Social Work from The University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee in 2011. After living in Wisconsin for 10 years, we moved back to Michigan nearly 5 years ago. Over the last 14 years, I have had experience working with children, youth, and families, as well as adults with disabilities, in various settings including public, charter, and private schools, community non-profits, at the county level, and in the medical setting. As a SSW, I am an ally and advocate for students with disabilities. I enjoy collaborating with students, families, and teachers, to build upon student's strategies and skills to increase their success and independence, through a positive, strengths-based, resiliency model. While supporting students' success in school, I also aim to promote overall wellness and mental health well-being! Some fun facts about me: I played basketball, volleyball, ran track and competed in high jump throughout junior high and high school, played flag football at MSU in an intramural league, was on a kickball team for 5 years, and now enjoy yoga, bike riding, and kayaking. My husband and I have 3 little kids, a bearded dragon, 15 fish (including a blue crawfish and a large catfish), a cat named Finnegan, and 2 african water frogs! I am a foodie, my favorite color is yellow, I love butterflies, the sunshine, and warm weather! I look forward to working together this year!

Mrs. Kathryn Fleming, Speech-Language Pathologist

My name is Katie Fleming Alexander and I’m a new speech-language pathologist in the district. I’ll be responsible for the Junior High and the Adult Transition Life Skills program. This summer I got married and moved to Clawson with my husband, Connor. I love skiing, wake surfing, and reading and am on a back-to-back championship winning kickball team. I’m super excited to be a part of Clarkston Junior High!

Mrs. Renee Alexander, Psychologist

This is my 24th year in Clarkston. I have worked at all levels, but have been at the junior high school for 12 years. I received my bachelor's degree from Alma College and attended Wayne State for graduate school. In my spare time I enjoy reading, scrapbooking, and spending time with my family at the cottage.

Mrs. Susan Joseph, Department Chair for Support Services, Teacher

I went to University of Toledo for my under grad and Marygrove for graduate school. I have been in CCS for 23 years, with the last 8 years at CJHS. I have previously taught in Ohio, California, New Hampshire and Japan. I have three children, all who have graduated from CCS. In my spare time I enjoy scrap booking, card making, watching sports, and traveling. You may also see me after school working volleyball, football and basketball games.
