KES Update
February 10, 2021
February is full of many celebrations - Black History Month, Valentine's Day, Heart Healthy Day, Groundhog Day, World Kindness Day, but what I am looking forward to celebrating most is welcoming all of our in-person Hornets back to school next week on February 16! In this newsletter, I will share the updated schedule and some reminders regarding our All In model. Our virtual classrooms have carried on and are thriving! As a KES family, we have been highlighting famous African Americans during morning announcements and will focus on kindness throughout the week of February 16, although our Hornets are encouraged to always be kind!
Back to the All-In Model Beginning February 16
A few reminders regarding our All-In Model...
- Updated schedule can be found here
- If your child is a car-rider, please do not use the Visitor's Center on Joseph St. for a drop off/pick up area. That is private property. We ask that if you drop off/pick up your child, please do so in the car rider line.
- As we welcome back all of our in-person students next week, we do anticipate more cars than during hybrid. We will have staff outside to help direct traffic and keep the line flowing along. Please follow the lead of the staff members. We need to drop students off and pick them up in the loading/unloading zone for safety. We also need to do our best to keep cars from backing up on 306, so we will move the line along as quickly as possible.
- Car riders will be released from cars starting at 8:40.
- If your child uses an indoor recess bag, please replenish it with things that will be engaging during indoor recess.
- We will go outside as often as possible! Please be sure your child has the appropriate outdoor clothing to bundle up for recess.
Thank you PTA for the fun treats and Bingo prizes!
