Hero Headlines HMS Staff News
March 9, 2020
General Announcements.....
- Our hallways need some love. Please update your bulletin boards and make sure they look great for our conferences. Don't forget the main hallways as well.
- We will all need to RC by Thursday, March 12th @ 11:59pm. (This is a change from what we discussed at team lead meeting.)
- We will be meeting with each teacher again this year for our summative conversation. Like last year, the goal is that all three administrators will have a short conference time with each of you. The first sheet in this workbook will give you instructions. The other tabs are there for you to reserve your time.
- Please give us feedback on Hero Hour. Complete this form ASAP.
- Huddle this week will be used to discuss SLCs - we will have some REQUIRED stations in the cafeteria so we will go through those. Parents will need to come to the cafeteria either before or after the SLC. Please see the section below with info about conferences & be ready with questions!
- Wednesday, March 11th, @ 10am - we will all be watching a LIVE broadcast about the Census in 2020. We are going to shorten Hero Hour and "reabsorb" that time during 3rd block. PE & Health will watch in the cafeteria on the projector.
- 7:50-8:18 - Hero Hour
- 8:21-9:04 - 1st block
- 9:07-9:50 - 2nd block (9:28 switch)
- 9:53-10:51 - 3rd block (10:29 switch)
- day resumes as normal
Student-Led Conferences Spring 2020
Please look through this information and links carefully.
- This week (March 9-13) every 6th and 7th grader should get enrollment information and a letter about residency verification. The packets will be in your box on Monday (March 9th). Please distribute these during advisory.
- This is the letter that is going home to parents. They are also getting enrollment information that should come back at conferences.
- List of staff assignments. Those of you working in the cafeteria - we will need to meet and go over your "jobs" on Monday morning (16th) from 7:55-8:25am. Do not print this yet, as it will continue to have amendments, but this gives you an idea of what will be happening in the cafeteria.
- Review the map below to make sure you understand the flow.
- Dress is professional, but please try and wear comfortable shoes (especially in the cafeteria).
- All parents MUST come to the cafeteria. This is why I asked you to NOT schedule conference times after 6:45/5:45. Hopefully, this will allow parents time to see the advisor and go to the cafeteria. We want everyone to be able to walk out and go home at 7:15/6:15.
