The Leftover Last Waltz
Tulsa teachers are invited to attend The Leftover Last Waltz
free of charge at Cain's Ballroom on Sunday, November 27. The Leftover Last Waltz is an informal and casual fundraiser that supports music education programs at the Woody Guthrie Center.
The event highlights Tulsa music, food, art and film and includes a screening of The Last Waltz (a documentary about The Band's final performance on Thanksgiving Day in 1976) and a collaborative Thanksgiving buffet is created by a number of Tulsa restaurants, including Hasty Bake, Lucky's, Delesandro's, Blue Moon, Mr. Nice Guys and Livi Lee's Donuts.

This event is open to all ages, and Tulsa Public Schools teachers will be admitted free of charge with your TPS ID badge.
Procedures for Volunteers in the Building
1) If you need a volunteer for a field trip or an activity in your classroom, please contact
the Parent Facilitator at least two weeks in advance in order to provide time to recruit
the needed volunteers.
2) Any volunteer must have a background check which can be obtained from the office
or the Parent Facilitator.
3) One the volunteer application has been approved, the volunteer will be contacted
regarding their volunteer interests at the school.
4) All volunteers must check-in with the Parent Facilitator when in the building to track
volunteer hours. Volunteers wear a volunteer sticker at all times.
5) If you are expecting a volunteer, please notify the Parent Facilitator by email in
advance.
6) The Parent Facilitator will assign tasks to volunteers at the school. In order to be at the
school, they must be working on a specific task designated by the Parent Facilitator
or a task for the teacher which has been approved by the Parent Facilitator.
Twanna Johnson will act as the Parent Facilitator until a new one has been hired.
Monitoring English Language Development Students
Monitoring of Former English Learners is a requirement of Title III of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). To ensure that students who have attained English language proficiency on the ACCESS for ELLs assessment are continuing to be successful, we monitor Former English Learners for four years following the initial attainment of the proficiency score.
The monitoring window for the current fall semester opened Monday, October 31st and will remain open until December 30, 2016. Content area teachers received an email from Ellevation Education beginning Monday, October 31st inviting them to login to InClass via Clever to complete a virtual monitoring forms for the Former English Learners in their classes. You will provide monitoring feedback electronically by logging into InClass via Clever.
