Principals and Elements of Design
What is the purpose of the Principals and Elements of Design?
The purpose of the principals and elements of design are to make works of art interesting and grab the viewers attention. Any artist that wants to create a work of art must utilize the elements and principals of design. If they want to draw the viewers attention to a certain object in their piece, they must use emphasis. Principals like texture and movement make the viewer want to reach out and touch the art. Even though elements like line and shape are very simple and anybody could use them, if they are used in the correct way it can create a great work of art. Without the elements and principals of design, we wouldn't have the incredible works of art we see in museums today.
