During the fist week of school, students should have received their student ID. Students need their student ID in order to purchase a lunch in the cafeteria. If your child needs one, they need to report to room 516. If a student loses their ID, they must purchase a replacement for $5.

School Health Service Documents

The following forms should be updated each year for child's record. If your child did not bring these home during the 1st week of school, please have your child go to the media center for additional forms. Also, you can access them on the school website.

  • Emergency Contact Information and Authorization for Release of Student from School – this form is required to be completed annually for all students in an effort to collect current and correct emergency contact information and basic health information.
  • Medication Administration Authorization – must be completed and signed for all medication that is administered to students and/or for students to be authorized to self-carry medication.

Schedule Change Requests

Elective schedule change requests will occur the first week of school. Due to the volume and ability to track the processing of requests in a fair manner, schedule change requests cannot be processed via email. Go to https://dcps.duvalschools.org/Page/6409 to access the procedures and policies of requesting a schedule change.

Tardies

Tardies will start on Monday, August 31st. Please encourage your child to arrive to class on time. Also, remind your child they should not congregate outside the classrooms during transitions. If students arrive to school past 7:15, they must enter in the front of the building.

Textbooks

At this time, all students should have received their textbooks. If your child does not have his or her textbooks, they need to reach out to their individuals teacher.

Parking Passes and Lockers

If you child needs a locker or a parking pass, they can purchase them in the student media center during lunch. Lockers cost $5 and parking passes cost $50. (CASH ONLY)

Testing Updates

PSAT Test

On October 14th, the PSAT (9/10) and the PSAT/NMSQT(11) will be administered to our students. For the 11th graders, the PSAT/NMSQT is the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. The PSAT is a great primer for the SAT, and even the ACT, but it’s more than just a trial run. PSAT scores are used to identify National Merit Scholars and award merit scholarships. More than 3.4 million high school students (mostly juniors and sophomores) take this nationwide, multiple-choice test every year. Visit https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/psat-nmsqt-psat-10 for more information.

ACT and SAT Testing Site

We have exciting news! Your student can now take the ACT/SAT at Atlantic Coast on Saturdays. Go to collegboard.org and ACT.org to have your child sign up for the SAT or ACT.
