Absence Update
February 2018
Total absences that need Guest Educators 3136
Total absences filled by Guest Educators 2497
Total absences not filled 639
This 6 weeks has been very difficult with campus/district training, illnesses and personal days making our district fill rate 79.70%.
You Made It
With a fill rate of 79.70%, all campuses were feeling overwhelmed across the district. The increased news coverage of the flu epidemic did not help our situation.
We onboarded 52 new Guest Educators on February 20th. They were an eager group of people that want to work.
Please be sure to welcome them to your campus and show them the great things that happen in NISD!
Risk Management Tips
- Wash your hands often with soap and water. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub. Hand sanitizer dispensers are located in classrooms throughout the district.
- Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects that may be contaminated with germs like the influenza virus. ABM, our custodial service, is cleaning surfaces each night but once students and staff return to the classrooms, germs can continue to spread. Wiping down desk surfaces, countertops, and door handles with disinfecting wipes after each class when possible can help to prevent the spread of germs.
- It is recommended that you remove everything from your desk and wipe down your desk, chair, phone, keyboard, mouse, and cabinets with a disinfecting wipe. Do not use disinfecting wipes on the keyboard of any laptop computer. If your iPad is in an Otter box, use a disinfecting wipe, otherwise, use a screen cleaner wipe. Do not use a disinfecting wipe on computer monitors.
Be on the Look Out
We sent over 60 letters and badge ribbons to Guest Educators that have received 5 or more five-star ratings in AESOP. Human Resources also recognized 9 Guest Educators at the school board meeting on February 26th that have received a GREAT Guest Educator evaluation through Applitrack.
Don't forget to:
- Complete the GREAT Guest Educator evaluation form in Applitrack for those individuals that go above and beyond the call of duty!
- Have your teachers and staff complete the feedback in AESOP, this is a great way to document the areas we need to improve upon and areas we can celebrate!
Mark Your Calendars!
April 11th we will be hosting the 5th and final Guest Educator orientation for 2017-2018 at the administration building. As you recruit at your campus let the potential candidates know we have an open posting on our employment website. The posting will close on March 23rd, and will not reopen until the first part of July.
