Fair Use of Online Images

Copyright
A form of protection given to the author/creator of an original work. This is used to protects the creator's work from the use of others and gives them full ownership. The Copyright Act of 1976, stated that your work is protected for as long as the author is alive plus another 70 year after that.
Public Domain
Public domain applies when a work's copyright has expired. It also applies when someone has been deprived from the use. This allows the open public tot access and use the creators work without giving credit.
Fair Use
Fair use is allowed on any copyrighted work for the use of a small portion of the work. This needs to be accompanied by a citation or recognition of the creator showing that it is not your work.

This symbol is used to show that a work is copyrighted.
Public Domain
This symbol is used for the show of a work being open to the public.
Fair Use
This symbol is used for showing a piece of work can be used by others with a citation.
