Library Worker News
The inside scoop on the Greenwich Free Library
How do we love you? Let us count the hours.
When we talk to people about the library we like to give them facts and figures - how many check outs, how many computer uses etc. One of the numbers that always impresses people is the number of hours volunteers put in.
In April, that number was 219! From mid-teens to mid-eighties, our volunteers come in all ages, shapes and sizes. We truly could not do it without you
Some gentle reminders . . . .
Check it out
When checking patrons out, you must hit Enter to finish. The form will clear for the next person and the information will be sent. If you close the screen without hitting Enter, the checkout will not be recorded.I fought the law . . .
It is library policy to deny access to patron records to any third party unless they have a court order. Although we are all law-abiding people who wish to be helpful, you may not give out any information about what patrons are reading, looking at on the computer or printing to anyone - including police, lawyers and government officials. Any inquiries must be directed to me (the director). This policy is basic to our commitment to maintaining user privacy and not a judgement call for you to make.
