COVID Vaccine Hotline

You can now make a vaccine appointment using the New Jersey vaccine hotline. The call center at 855-568-0545 is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week. Just over the weekend, the center took more than 16,000 calls and registered 514 people with the New Jersey Vaccine Scheduling System and made appointments for 286 people. The call center also handles any questions residents have about the vaccine.

Ralph Maresca Retires

After serving the Borough for thirty years, Ralph Maresca, Borough Administrator and CFO, retired on January 29. Over his impressive tenure, he worked with seven different mayors and countless Council members. Of his many contributions to the community, he is most proud of maintaining the Borough's AAA rating through fiscally responsible financial management. He was honored in a socially distant celebration on Friday, January 29 with the presentation of a bench at Nervine Park to recognize his service to the Borough. We wish him all the best in his well deserved retirement!

HOPE AND HEALING - If you or someone you care about is experiencing any of the following: feelings of isolation, confusion, fear, anxiety or stress; grief related to COVID-19 including the loss of a loved one; or the loss of income, housing, food, security, health insurance and/or personal safety, contact the Somerset County Hope and Healing Program for free, confidential, virtual emotional support services.

The County is continuing to offer RENTAL RELIEF to residents who have lost their income due to the pandemic and need help making their monthly rent payments. To receive assistance, applicants need to complete an application and submit the required documentation. Here's how to apply:

The Somerset County Clerk and Somerset County Surrogate have EXTENDED OFFICE HOURS until 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, but because of COVID restrictions, all service is being performed by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, call the Clerk's Office at 908-231-7013 and the Surrogate's Office at 908-231-7003.

Diapers and Gift Cards Still Needed!

The Pop-Up Food Pantry, headquartered at St. Bernard's Church, is still collecting diapers/wipes and ShopRite gift cards to distribute. Financial donations are also welcome. Funds raised will continue to help cover the cost of meals (coordinating with local restaurants), ShopRite gift cards, and rental assistance to our neighbors in need. Donations can be made by check, made payable to The Community Fund (also a 501(c)3), with "Food Pantry" on the memo line and mailed to St. Bernard's Church, 66 Claremont Road, or dropped at St. Bernard's Parish House.

Masks Required!

President Biden issued an executive order requiring masks in all federal buildings, as well as on public transit, airplanes and cabs. summed it with "if it moves, flies or float, put on the mask."
