Important Information for the Week
Drop off and Pick up
Please be aware that duty on our yard starts at 8:45am. Students arriving before then will be unsupervised and this is not safe. If you drive your child or if your child is walking from home, please make sure that they are not at the school before 8:45am. At the end of the day for pick up, you will notice that classes are going to be moving away from the exit doors in order to connect with parents and guardians who are picking up their child. Due to sheer numbers, many classes are coming outside by way of the north or south doors, but then stopping when parents are there - causing a bottle neck behind them. Primary classes especially will now be finding a spot AWAY from the north or south doors, so that classes can get out and congestion will be away from the exit doors. Your child's teacher will be letting you know where the best place is to meet them moving forward, so that we are a little more spread out in the yard.
Festive Fridays
The GT Student Morale Committee is busy getting ready for a great month of December. More information to follow soon - but Festive Fridays and other exciting events are coming your way.
School Council/School Arts Experience
I had a chance to meet with artist Alice Vander Vennen last week. We have firmed up the plans to have a full school visual arts experience the week of January 21st. We will be creating 40 large fish from gathered material, that will then be hung from the ceiling in the Den. More information will come - we'll be looking for volunteer hands, sewing machine sewers and hand sewers to help with this amazing project. Please let me know if you (or an aunt, or a grandmother, or someone else you know!) might be able to lend a hand. A huge thank you to School Council for matching school funds to provide this amazing experience to our students. This is exactly the kind of experience that the Donation Drive Funds will be supporting!
